GIRLS STATE INFO
It is time for girls who are currently junior high school students to begin applying for the American
Legion Auxiliary’s Girls State Program. Again this year Girls State will be held at Salisbury University
the week of June 19 – 24, 2017. The tuition fee for each participant is $290.00, which the American
Legion Auxiliary covers, and the only cost to the students is a $45.00 registration fee.
In order to apply for Girls State, the students must complete an ONLINE Interest Form –
www.facebook.com/alamdgs –click on link to “Interest Form.” They must complete and submit ONLINE. Then they will print and fill out the application which is also online.
After the application has been completed, notify me and I will arrange for an interview. The students are not to send their applications directly to the department office. It must have a sponsoring unit cover sheet, which I will add to their applications after I have interviewed them. All applications and interviews must be completed by February 18, 2017.
