Sons of the American Legion – Squadron 82

The Sons of the American Legion (SAL) Squadron 82 is a proud part of the American Legion family here at Harry White Wilmer American Legion Post 82. Our members carry forward the legacy of service established by the veterans who came before us, honoring their sacrifice through continued commitment to our Post, our community, and our nation.

Who We Are

Squadron 82 is made up of sons, grandsons, adopted sons, and stepsons of veterans who served honorably in the United States Armed Forces. Our members represent multiple generations—bringing together youth and adults who share a deep respect for military service and a desire to give back.

Our Role at Post 82

Squadron 82 is an integral part of the Post 82 family, working alongside the Legionnaires, Auxiliary, and Riders to ensure the continued success and growth of our Post. Through teamwork and shared purpose, we help create a welcoming environment that honors our veterans while serving the needs of our community.

Preamble to the S.A.L. National Constitution

Proud possessors of a priceless heritage, we male descendants of Veterans of the Great Wars, associate ourselves together as "Sons of The American Legion" for the following purposes: To uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America; to maintain law and order; to foster and perpetuate a true spirit of Americanism; to preserve the memories of our former members and the associations of our members and our forefathers in the Great Wars; to inculcate a sense of individual obligation to the community, state and nation; to combat the autocracy of both the classes and masses; to make right the master of might; to promote peace and good will on earth; to safeguard and transmit to posterity the principles of justice, freedom and democracy; to consecrate and sanctify our friendship by our devotion to mutual helpfulness; to adopt in letter and spirit all of the great principles for which The American Legion stands; and to assist in carrying on for God and Country.
