Raymond Milton "Buddy" Hindle, Jr.
Raymond Milton "Buddy" Hindle, Jr. of Bel Alton, MD died on October 26, 2025, at his home at the age of 85. He lived in Oklahoma and South Dakota for several years, but most of his life was in Southern Maryland.
Buddy was born on October 6, 1940, at Physicians Memorial Hospital in LaPlata, MD to the late Raymond Milton Hindle, Sr. and Helen Irene Hindle of Port Tobacco, MD. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers George and J.T. Hindle.
Buddy was a 1958 graduate of La Plata High School. He attended Strayer College for a year before serving four years in the United States Air Force being Honorably Discharged in 1963. Growing up he was very active in the Port Tobacco 4-H Club showing his steers at the fairs and he was quite a public speaker in 4-H and FFA. He was inducted into the Maryland 4-H AlU Star organization for his service. He worked most of his life in the construction business.
He is survived by his wife Angel Hindle of 36 years, his children Craig Hindle (Bobbi Jo Scott-Hindle), daughters Candace Shelton (Scott), and Holly Hindle, granddaughters Samantha Whalen (Chris), Kate Shelton, and Irina Shelton (Devlin), two great granddaughters Presley Whalen and Presley Baker and great grandson Kaden Whalen. He is also survived by his siblings Louise Stine, Nancy Elrod (Steve) and Louis Hindle along with many nieces, and nephews.
Buddy was a Vietnam Veteran (USAF). Buddy was a 36-year American Legion member, and Commander for 18 years for Post 82. Buddy dedicated many years to the American Legion calling Bingo and contributing to various functions. In his free time, he loved to watch the Washington Commanders, go fishing and spending time with family and friends.
Visitation will be on November 9, 2025, 1:00pm -5:00pm, with Legion Service at 4:00pm and Prayers at 4:30pm at Arehart-Echols Funeral Home
